How to Apply
Review Application Requirements
Find application requirements based on how you will be starting your education at Clarkson. Be prepared to submit documentation for test scores and transcripts and provide letters of recommendation and a personal statement or essay. Programs may additionally have specific prerequisites. Keep on top of deadlines to be eligible for grants and merit scholarships.
Complete Your Application
After gathering all documentation, complete and submit one of Clarkson’s provided applications or, for undergraduate students, the Common App.
Factor in Financial Aid
If you are a U.S. citizen, make sure you have your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) filled out by the February 1 deadline to be eligible for federal, state and institutional need-based aid.
For First-Year Students
You’re completing or recently completed high school and will be entering a bachelor’s degree-granting program as a first-year student. Submit your application by the December 1 Early Decision Admissions deadline or by January 15, the Regular Decision deadline.
Students who are applying for first-year entry will not be charged an application fee if you apply using the Clarkson or Common App.
Application Requirements
Review requirements for transcripts, essays and letters of recommendation, in addition to program-specific prerequisites. Submitting SAT and ACT scores is optional for incoming first-year students.

For Transfer Students
You’ve completed some college and have roughly 24 credit hours to transfer to Clarkson. No matter if you previously attended a two- or four-year school, Clarkson accepts transfer applications on a rolling basis.
Application Requirements
Review all documentation to include with your application based on the number of credit hours you have earned so far. Transfer students must supply official transcripts for all colleges and universities attended to date, including for dual enrollment during high school and AP, IB and CLEP test scores.
Financial Aid
Complete your FAFSA® to be eligible for federal, state and institutional need-based aid. In addition to loans, grants and work-study, Clarkson extends specific scholarships and awards to transfer students.

For Graduate Students
On campus or online, in Potsdam or the Capital Region, you’ll complete Clarkson’s Graduate School Application if you are interested in enrolling in a master’s, doctoral or graduate certificate program offered.
